Lebanon Valley College congratulates more than 650 students named to the Dean's List for the spring 2019 semester. Dean's list students must maintain a GPA of at least 3.4 out of 4.0.

A select group of outstanding students has been named to the fall 2018 Dean's List at Adelphi University. Adelphi's deans of Arts and Sciences, Education, Business, Nursing, Social Work and Psychology recognize superior academic work every semester. The Dean's List comprises full-time students-registered for 12 or more credits-who have completed at least 9 graded credits and achieved a GPA of 3.5 or above for the semester. This recognition becomes part of the student's academic record and is entered into the individual's transcript.

The State University of New York at Potsdam will recognize nearly 900 candidates for graduation during the College's 2019 Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 18. The SUNY Potsdam Class of 2019 will be awarded baccalaureate and master's degrees at the ceremony.

University of Scranton students were inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu, the national Jesuit honor society. Alpha Sigma Nu is the only honor society open to students and faculty in all disciplines of the University.

On May 8 New York Institute of Technology students presented research and posters at this year's Alethia Annual Research Symposium. Organized by NYIT School of Health Professions and held at the NYIT Long Island campus in Old Westbury, N.Y., the event's name comes from the Greek word for "truth," encouraging the future professionals to find passion in their work. Among the many topics covered by this year's projects and poster presentations were Parkinson's disease, the effects of vaping, the relationship between exercise and grades, and more. NYIT School of Health Professions prepares students for rewarding careers in fast-growing health professions, including Clinical Nutrition, Health Sciences/Health and Wellness, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, and Physical Therapy.

New York Institute of Technology presented student life awards to 18 students who showed leadership, served the university, and enhanced fellow students' experience throughout the 2018-19 academic year.

More than 700 students have been awarded scholarships at the annual scholarship dinner held on April 4. SUNY Oneonta's scholarship funds total over $60 million and are the result of contributions from donors, corporations and foundations. It is the largest endowment among SUNY comprehensive four-year colleges.

SUNY New Paltz Men's Volleyball team takes the 2019 NCAA Championship title.

SUNY Oneonta recognized more than 50 outstanding students during an Academic Achievement Awards reception on May 1. One to three students were chosen from each of the college's academic departments and programs to receive the 2019 Academic Achievement Awards. Each student selected one faculty guest to accompany them to the recognition event. In addition to their excellent work in the classroom, students were honored for distinguishing themselves in many ways, including research, activism, mentoring, athletics, involvement in campus activities and volunteerism.

More than 160 student researchers presented their work at NYIT's "SOURCE" (Symposium of University Research and Creative Expression), sponsored by NYIT College of Arts and Sciences. Students presented in groups or individually, giving oral presentations or exhibiting posters featuring their research findings.

Lebanon Valley College recognized more than 199 student-athletes who competed for the Flying Dutchmen athletic teams during the winter season.

A total of 196 students received the SUNY Oneonta 2018-2019 Susan Sutton Smith Award for academic excellence. To be eligible for the award, a student must be a freshman, sophomore or junior with a grade-point average of 3.9 or higher. Student award winners receive a certificate, a gift card to the campus bookstore, and an invitation to attend the annual Susan Sutton Smith Lecture and reception. Dr. Tracy Betsinger, associate professor of biological anthropology, will deliver this year's Susan Smith Lecture titled, "Babies Are Us: What Can We Learn from Fetuses and Infants from History and Prehistory," on Tuesday, April 9, 7 p.m. in the Otsego Grille, Morris Conference Center on campus.

More than 250 students graduated from SUNY Delhi in December 2018. SUNY Delhi's hands-on approach to teaching and learning includes over 60 academic programs in specialized areas, including applied technologies, nursing, veterinary sciences, applied sciences, and liberal arts. Eight SUNY Oneonta wrestlers were selected to the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference All-Academic Team.

On Thursday, March 28, and Friday, March 29, a group of 20 student members of WONY 90.9 FM, SUNY Oneonta's student-run radio station, took a Student Association-sponsored field trip to Boston to visit a few of the largest public media institutions in the United States. The students received private guided tours of WGBH and WBUR. They also visited the PRX Podcast Garage and WTBU, Boston University's student-run radio station. The group was accompanied by Dr. Andrew Bottomley, WONY faculty advisor and assistant professor of Media Studies in SUNY Oneonta's Communication & Media Department. It was a rare chance for students to get a behind-the-scenes peek at professional broadcasting studios, interact with experienced journalists and top industry executives, and learn about internship and career opportunities.

More than 300 graduates were recognized at SUNY Oneonta's Winter Commencement on December 2, 2018. Students who completed the requirements for bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and certificates of advanced study in the Dewar Arena of the Alumni Field House.
